My name is Sharon Tiedemann and I have been a trainee at the Fraunhofer IWKS facility since November 1, 2020. Due to the current Corona pandemic, I am particularly proud to be able to start an apprenticeship in marketing communications at Fraunhofer IWKS. The pandemic, which was accompanied by short-time work and hiring freezes, made the search for a proper apprenticeship quite difficult, but with Fraunhofer it was not impossible.
Ever since I can remember, I knew that I wanted to develop creatively and be in contact with people in my future profession. Even during my school years, I took advantage of every opportunity to do an internship in various industries and fields, but the career fields had one thing in common: creative expression, a free approach and contact with people. Whether it was photography, elementary school teaching or architecture, I got a taste of everything. That's why neither I nor my family and friends were surprised that one of the subjects I studied in my A-levels was art, or that I was accepted at a design college. I decided to train as a marketing communications specialist because I had already attended a dual study program in the field of market and media psychology. This already gave me an insight into the theoretical part of the training to become a marketing communications specialist. I have realized that this training fulfills all my professional wishes and that this is the path I want to take in the end.
