Rare Earths: Sustainability, Transparency and Standardization

Rare Earths (RE) play a vital role in green technologies, digitalization etc. The advantages of the use phase of these materials are quite interesting and attractive despite of having lot of value chain challenges along with lack of sustainability and transparency. To address the challenges and to bridge the upstream and downstream players Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA) was established. REIA addresses the various aspects within the value chain viz. awareness, standardization, Sustainability framework, Transparency guidelines etc. The talk also focuses on how diversification and colocation can bring the aspects of true sustainability and transparency.
