How can sustainable materials and the development of efficient procedures and recycling processes, the use of critical raw materials be minimised and materials otherwise kept in the cycle for as long as possible?

Is it possible to replace existing materials, e.g. in electrolysers, with "greener" materials without loss of performance?

The scientists at the Fraunhofer IWKS in Hanau are working on these questions. On the "Open Lab Day H2-Hanau", the doors to otherwise closed laboratories open and offer interested citizens insights into the work of the institute.

Researchers from various disciplines will explain their projects and developments, take you on a tour of the inner workings of a fuel cell and answer your questions on the topics of material development and sustainability.
